VAESSEN WALKER

Vaessen Walker's innovative collections have received much recognition, both nationally and abroad, and have been commended in receiving a number of awards in both design and craftsmanship...

MEDINA is the latest collection from creator and founding director Louise Vaessen-Walker, inspired by the rich beauty of Morocco, and combining Islamic, Moorish and Spanish influences.

“I continue to explore a pure aesthetic, a love of beautifully modest things, where objects and ideologies are taken back to their simplest form in both design and execution.”

KATY GILLAM-HULL

Katy Gillam-Hull is a crafts artist who graduated from University of Hertfordshire with a BA in Contemporary Applied Arts in 2015, with a term spent studying metalwork at Oslo Academy of the Arts.

As a crafts artist, Katy Gillam-Hull makes work fuelled by curiosity and informed by historical research and imagination alike. She predominantly works in precious metals incorporating found objects, often pieces of ceramic or glass. Whether she is working with a museum’s collection or her own finds from mudlarking, she often considers the forgotten beauty or narrative of objects.

ROSITA BONITA

Rosita Bonita is the glamorous alter-ego of designer Rowenna Harrison. Inspiration comes from glamorous fantasies of past times and faraway lands, and encompasses icons of folklore, myth & legend.

Each piece of Rosita Bonita jewellery is lovingly handcrafted at her studio in the seaside town of Margate, England. Original illustrations are screen-printed or foil-embossed onto fine leathers and carefully assembled into unique and collectable treasures. Over the years the collection has expanded to include a range of innovative materials and techniques, as well as a plethora of themes to adorn & delight.

EVGENIIA BALASHOVA

Eve Balashova creates striking, visually captivating, tactile jewellery using a combination of 3d printing and traditional hand skills. Her work is bright, bold and colourful and designed with ease of wear in mind as all pieces are very light and durable.

Eve’s approach to jewellery is a celebration of colour, with each piece carefully dyed by hand to create smooth, seamless colour transitions.

Her extensive palette is created by mixing various shades of dye together to create unique and sophisticated combinations. These subtle hues are complemented by handcrafted precious elements, which she creates using traditional metalworking skills – piercing, scoring and folding, and soldering.

HEATHER McDERMOTT

Heather McDermott specialises in contemporary jewellery and takes her inspiration from the ever-changing shoreline and landscape of the Isle of Skye - a treasure trove of unique objects discarded from the urban environment.

These inspirational scenes are developed and translated into her work by utilising shapes and colours. Unconventional in size and structure, each piece is an expression of sculptural form and is designed to create a statement.

The industrial nature of the stainless steel is hand formed into soft geometric shapes mimicking fishing nets and lobster pots. Repetition creates chaotic chain which are then embellished with simple vivid discs of colour inspired by washed up buoys.

WE DREAM IN COLOUR

We Dream in Colour is a black-owned, self-funded, independent jewellery line designed and handmade with a focus on sustainability, jewellery that has separated itself with bold colours and rich patinas for over a decade.

Founder Jade Gedeon and sister Mika have a combined goal: to craft brilliant pieces that will be well-loved for years to come, and prioritise the quality of life for their entire team over chasing aggressive growth.

From small to big, the team take as many steps as they can to minimise their environmental impact, using repurposed materials and earth-friendly processes wherever possible, and focusing on working with socially conscious suppliers.
