TANIA CLARKE HALL: FREEHAND AND PEARL

Tania Clarke Hall is an award-winning jeweller working in leather. Influenced by her background in chemistry and a love of Japanese design, with its wabi-sabi aesthetic, Tania’s bold and dramatic pieces are designed with a deceptively simple economy of line.

She delights in moulding, slashing, scorching and colouring the leather using experimental and innovative techniques that continually push the boundaries of her medium. The result is elegant yet playful jewellery, created to be worn in a variety of ways - twisted, wrapped or draped on the body.

The pieces shift and change to reveal different perspectives, helical shapes, and sudden bursts of colour. Tactile, warm, malleable and beautifully lightweight, her jewellery is a pleasure to wear.

Tania’s jewellery has received much critical acclaim, and has been showcased in leading galleries internationally.

She has earned a fan in Prue Leith, who recently credited Tania's necklace as her favourite in an article in the Financial Times.

Tania has exhibited her work with us in the past, and for this showcase she has sent us her new collection 'Freehand & Pearl'. Beautiful Italian leather with 22 carat gold is one of the signatures of this elegant collection.

Each dot and line is carefully tooled by hand onto the leather in a series of playful and dynamic patterns, making every piece unique. Pearls and leather come together to create an edgy monochromatic look, with playful cutting and hand tooled details.
